Many business owners choose either organic or paid traffic. This choice will dominate their marketing without seeing the benefit of both opportunities.
In reality, organic and paid traffic go hand and hand in a well-created marketing campaign.
Using this marketing trick, you can turn your everyday blog into a high converting advertising machine that identifies customers without even asking for their email!
Content and Ads Going Hand and Hand
I stumbled upon this secret when I wanted to show highly relevant ads to my readers.
The obstacle I ran into was that prospects weren’t interested in automating their sales system right off the bat.
They wanted to figure out the solutions to their immediate problems. They wanted lowest cost per click, more website conversions, or better email campaigns.
I finally realized that in order to convince readers that they needed to build a system, I needed to solve their immediate problem and show how it was a symptom of the larger problem!
That is when I found the content marketing funnel!
Let Your Readers Tell You What They Want To See
Often, a reader will become obsessed with one aspect of your business and consume that content faster than anything else you offer.
This will be the initial reason they’ve stumbled upon your business whether you are driving traffic there or they find you from searching about the topic.
By breaking your content into these categories, you will be able to break your big solution into smaller problems that prospects are already aware of and desperately want to be solved.
Instead of trying to show them what they need, you can give your customers what they immediately want and then position it into your product.
It’s pretty awesome that your content can act as a bridge between what clients want and your product that they need!
It Works Even If You Suck At Marketing!
You might be thinking, “This sounds great, but I have no idea how I’d even do this. I’m not even a marketer!”
Well actually, you don’t need to be a stellar marketer to pull this off. If you have a blog that’s optimized for search engine discovery like the ones made by Publoft, you will already have the traffic.
From there, all you need to do is add various Facebook Pixel tracking events on each article of your website based on content.
After that, all you have to do is create an audience of just the visitors with that pixel and target them specifically.
Instead of having to blindly guess at which audience wants your product, you can target specifically the readers that have already expressed interest in it!
Instead of trying to figure out the aspect of your business they are most interested in, you can segment your prospects based on their interests and make an initial offer based on that.
Once you think about it, it’s pretty cool that you can pull this all off even without being a superstar marketer!
Out Advertising Your Competitors!
You’re probably thinking that your advertising costs will skyrocket because you’re competing for the same audience as all your competitors who may have higher advertising budgets.
Well actually, your blog posts will act as a prospect identifier for your business that will identify the visitors in the market that are actually familiar with your business and value your content more than your competitor’s content.
Instead of targeting a cold audience that has no preference for you or your competitors, you can show relevant advertisements to the readers on your blog despite not having their email address.
It makes sense that since this audience is already familiar with your product, it is much cheaper to advertise to them rather than trying to target everyone in a certain demographic or that follow a certain interest.
By using your organic traffic to identify these prospects, you will save all the money your competitors spend on identifying prospects and focus all the money on converting afterward.
The CEO of Sumo, Noah Kagan, uses this technique where he drives traffic to a blog post and then makes a highly relevant offer.
Rather than making someone opt in for his content, he is able to increase readership and identify prospects not by emails but by just opting in initially!
